Lego bricks are a timeless, creative, engaging and fun way to PLAY and LEARN!
Mrs. Lowery will give students weekly challenges that will require creative problem solving, teamwork and utilizing STEAM to solve.
Some weeks, student will free build, other weeks, they will be challenged to build with 50 bricks, yet another week they may need to "free" Legos from ice blocks using various tools and materials and maybe there will be a challenge on who can build the tallest structure.
This club is for the Lego lovers in the lower school who are excited to build, create, and explore! Students in KG all the way through grade 4 are invited to collaborate and will team up to work on challenges but also have time to work independently and within their own grade levels!
Why build with Legos?
Building with Lego bricks benefits children by promoting creativity, problem solving skills, fine motor skills and spatial awareness. It fosters children's imagination and storytelling abilities, while enhancing math skills and encouraging patience and teamwork. Lego play also boosters self esteem and self expression and introduces engineering and design concepts. This versatile activity provides a well rounded developmental experience for children, making it a valuable part of their playtime activities.
