Description

Welcome to the Young Engineers Club, where curiosity and creativity come together for budding builders in grades K-2! In this brand new after-school program, students will explore the world of engineering through hands-on projects using everyday materials.

Marble Runs: Design and construct intricate marble runs using cardboard tubes, paper plates, and cups. Experiment with angles, slopes, and gravity to create exciting paths for marbles.

  • Straw Structures: Build towers and bridges using straws and connectors, learning about stability and structural integrity.
  • Egg Drop Challenges: Create protective containers for eggs using various materials, then test their designs by dropping them from different heights.
  • Paper Airplane Engineering: Explore aerodynamics by designing and testing different paper airplane models.
  • Simple Machines: Construct and experiment with levers, pulleys, and inclined planes using everyday objects.
  • Recycled Materials Robots: Use recyclable items to build imaginative robot creations, encouraging resourcefulness and creativity.

Each meeting will encourage teamwork and problem-solving as students collaborate on challenges and share their innovative ideas.

With a focus on exploration and hands-on learning, the Young Engineers Club is the perfect place for young minds to discover the wonders of engineering while having a blast!

Join Ms. Cabral, Mrs. Lowery, and Mrs. Shoemate for an adventure in building, creating, and discovering the engineer in you!
