Description

This course focuses on the roles religious belief and ritual behaviors have in the shaping of human self-understanding. A special emphasis is placed upon inculcating in students a sense of respect for religions other than one’s own.

Though students are introduced to the profound ideas and practices of many religions, special attention is directed towards seven of the world’s enduring religious traditions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.

Field trips are a required component of this course. A list of dates and times will be posted as soon as they are available.

Instructor: James Harris, US Assistant Principal
