Health and Human Development is a skills-based health course that focuses on equipping students with the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to make informed decisions and lead healthy lives as they transition from adolescence to adulthood.
This course emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, and practical application of health concepts through projects, lectures, discussion, and personal reflection on various facets of health and wellness.
In alignment with the California Content Standards for Health Science, this course is divided into the following six units of study: Personal and Community Health, Mental, Emotional, and Social Health, Injury Prevention and Safety, Nutrition and Physical Activity, Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs, Growth, Development, and Sexual Health.
