Lower and Middle School Gear Up's - SMES STUDENTS ONLY

July 8 - July 26

Gear Up's are effective ways to prepare for the upcoming school year while connecting with old and new friends. 

Lower School Gear Up's consist of daily academic, recess and lunch schedules that will mirror those of the upcoming year, including Special Subjects classes. 

Middle School Gear Up's consist of mornings spent in academic classes and afternoons at the beach with friends and faculty.

WHO can take Gear Up's?

Gear Up's are only for current or incoming (accepted) St. Margaret's students and NOT open to the public.

What are the DAYS and TIMES for Gear Up's?

Gear Up's are one week long, Monday through Friday and take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lower School Gear Up's take place on campus in the Lower School. Middle School Gear Up's are on campus in the morning and the afternoon is spent at the beach (transportation provided).

In the Lower School, daily academic, recess, and lunch schedules will mirror those of the upcoming school year, including Special Subject classes. Each day will include Reader's and Writer's workshops, engaging, hands-on math lessons, and study skills practice. Middle School students will spend the morning in academic classes and the afternoon at the beach with new and old friends and faculty.

Morning care and Extended Day for Summer 2024

Sign up for both for a full day option, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8. 

Spots are limited to 20 children. Sign up early to save your spot!

Morning care and Extended Day is offered Monday through Friday to give families the option of full time childcare in the summer. Children in grades KG-8 will have to opportunity to play games, do arts and crafts, have snack and supervised playground time before and after camp. Supervised by SMES Extension staff and available on a weekly basis.

Weekly morning care AND Extended Day
Combination of morning care and Extended Day is the best value for families needing a full day option. This provided care from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Weekly Extended Day
Extended Day is available Monday through Thursday until 5:00 p.m. and Friday until 4:30 p.m. for children in Kindergarten through grade 8. Extended Day is only available for children enrolled in p.m. (afternoon) or full day camps. Campers will be walked to Extended Day after the conclusion of camp. NOTE: Extended Day is NOT available for Ocean Life Adventure and camps with pick up at an off campus location.
Weekly morning care
Morning care is available starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday for children in Kindergarten through grade 8. Morning care is only available for a.m. (morning) or full day campers. Drop off is at 7:30 a.m. in the Extended Day room. Campers will be walked to their camp at 9:00 a.m.
