Lower and Middle School Exploration Camps - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

June 3 - July 12

Exploration camps in performing and visual arts, athletics, outdoor adventures, computer science, engineering and humanities are open to students entering Kindergarten through grade 8.

Many camps are already sold out. Due to high demand, new camps are added:

WHO can take Exploration camps?

Exploration camps are open to currently enrolled and incoming (accepted) St. Margaret’s students AND the public!

WHAT are Exploration Camps?

Exploration Camps are fun, immersive, and innovative camps that focus on developing the whole child. Camps nurture spiritual growth, an appreciation for life-long learning, the courage to lead and a responsibility to give to others.

Children can explore new camps each week and families can put together a summer schedule that allows for a wide variety of new experiences. 

What are the TIMES that camps are offered?

We offer week-long camps in three hour blocks. Morning (a.m.) camps run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Afternoon (p.m.) camps run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students may sign up for both a.m. and p.m. camps for a full day option.

During certain weeks, all-day camps are offered from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There is a BREAK between the A.M. and P.M. camps. What happens during that time?

Your camper will be supervised by St. Margaret's staff and have lunch and a break. Children are then escorted to their afternoon camp. You do not need to came to campus for the thirty minute break. STUDENTS ARE ALWAYS SUPERVISED.

 

NEW -- Morning care and Extended Day for Summer 2024

Offer morning care starting at 7:30 a.m. and Extended Day until 5:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. on Fridays) for campers in Kindergarten through Grade 8. 

Sign up early to save your spot!

Daily drop in available, charged at the rate of $25 for each program. Email [email protected] for more information.

Morning care and Extended Day is offered Monday through Friday to give families the option of full time childcare in the summer. Children in grades KG-8 will have to opportunity to play games, do arts and crafts, have snack and supervised playground time before and after camp. Supervised by SMES Extension staff and available on a weekly basis.

Combination of morning care and Extended Day is the best value for families needing a full day option. This provided care from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Weekly Extended Day
Extended Day is available Monday through Thursday until 5:00 p.m. and Friday until 4:30 p.m. for children in Kindergarten through grade 8. Extended Day is only available for children enrolled in p.m. (afternoon) or full day camps. Campers will be walked to Extended Day after the conclusion of camp. NOTE: Extended Day is NOT available for Ocean Life Adventure and camps with pick up at an off campus location.
Weekly morning care
Morning care is available starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday for children in Kindergarten through grade 8. Morning care is only available for a.m. (morning) or full day campers. Drop off is at 7:30 a.m. in the Extended Day room. Campers will be walked to their camp at 9:00 a.m.

Counselor In Training (CIT) Program - SMES STUDENTS ONLY

June 17 - June 28

A Counselor in Training is a student in grades 7 or 8 who has experience and enjoys working with younger students.

CIT's get the best of both worlds, as this leadership opportunity also includes participation in all camp activities, games, and snacks. This is an exciting way to grow as a leader and gain valuable experience for future counselor positions, while still having some good old fashioned fun.

CIT's are expected to have a strong work ethic, the ability to follow directions and execute tasks, and a willingness to engage with and build relationships with students in Kindergarten through grade 2. CIT's must enroll in the camp.
